Human API is a third party that allows insureds to log into their patient portal so their medical records can be electronically sent to BackNine. Human API can be significantly faster than the traditional medical records retrieval process. Human API can be accessed via the following four ways.
The first two are during the Human API step within Quote & Apply.
-
Clients can click “Log in to Patient Portal” and a dialog will appear which allows them to select their medical provider and enter their credentials.
-
Agents and clients can click the option to send a text and email invitation each of which contains a link for the insured to select their medical provider and enter their credentials.
The last two ways are for case managers during the underwriting process.
-
When creating an APS request BOSS, if Human API is enabled (which it is by default), BackNine will send an email and text to the insured with a link for the insured to select their medical provider and enter their credentials. The advisors on the case will receive an email confirmation when this is generated containing the link so they can assist the insured with logging in.
-
If the case manager doesn’t want to use the traditional APS retrieval process, they can just send the Human API request by selecting the “Instant APS” template when creating a task. BackNine will send an email and text to the insured with a link for the insured to select their medical provider and enter their credentials. The advisors on the case will receive an email confirmation when this is generated containing the link so they can assist the insured with logging in.
Regardless of how Human API is requested, agents can view the status of the Human API request within BOSS on either the Case or the Quote & Apply application.
